James K. Galbraith

James K. Galbraith is an economist who has served in several positions on the staff of the U.S. Congress, including Executive Director of the Joint Economic Committee. He is a professor at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin, a Senior Scholar of the Levy Economics Institute, and Chair of the Board of Economists for Peace and Security.  Here he  explains why the deficit phobia is dangerous and why cutting government spending won’t help the economy.

Aileen Riotto Sirey, Ph.D

Dr. Aileen Riotto Sirey founded the National Organization of Italian American Women in 1980 with a group of women including  Geraldine Ferraro, Matilda Raffa Cuomo, Donna de Matteo, Constance Mandina and  Roseanne Coletti. In addition to maintaining a private psychotherapy practice for more than twenty five years, she also served as part time Executive Director of the National Institute for the Psychotherapies.  She joins us as we pay tribute to former congresswoman and the first female vice presidential candidate, Geraldine Ferraro.
